What is shared in sessions remains private and confidential and will not be disclosed without your consent. There are, however, some exceptions. I may be required by law to break confidentiality in situations involving child protection, the protection of vulnerable adults, serious crime, or where ordered to do so by a court of law. 

If I believe that you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, I may need to contact appropriate services (for example, your GP or emergency/crisis services). Wherever possible, I would aim to discuss this with you before taking any action.

Any notes are kept brief, factual, and anonymised. Notes and identifiable information, such as contact details, are stored securely on password-protected devices and are not shared with third parties without your explicit permission, unless legally required.

As part of ethical practice, I attend regular clinical supervision. Any information discussed in supervision is anonymised, and also bound by confidentiality.
